Richard C. “Dick” Cook (Chairman of the Board) Senior Advisor Focus Bankers
He is currently a Senior Advisor for Focus Bankers, an investment bank that advises small and medium enterprises regarding raising capital, selling their business or acquisitions. Cook is former President and CEO of MAPICS, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: MAPX). MAPICS was a spin out of Marcam Corporation. He managed the 1993 sale by IBM (NYSE: IBM) of the $60 million revenue MAPICS business to Marcam (Nasdaq/NM: MCAM), and conducted the 1997 public offering that created the MAPICS, Inc. business. Prior to MAPICS, Cook was an executive with the IBM Corporation. His IBM career spanned 25 years where he held a number of senior management positions. He was the 2003 Chairman of the Board of the AeA (now TechAmerica), the national high tech trade association representing over 3000 American companies. Mr. Cook is the Chairman of the board of EnteGreat, Inc. and a member of the boards of Agentek, and Edgenet Technologies.
Cook holds a B.S. degree from Florida Atlantic University, where he has been inducted into the Business School’s hall of Fame.
Bret Bergman Chief Executive Officer Qcept Technologies Inc. Bret Bergman has served Qcept Technologies in a number of capacities since joining the start-up in 2002, including fundraising resulting in $24 million and guiding Qcept's focus on the semiconductor equipment market. Prior to that, he was managing partner of Bergman & Associates, a venture and consulting firm for early-stage technology companies. Before founding that firm, Bergman was chief operating officer at Nexchange Corp., an early stage e-commerce service provider. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of marketing and strategy/managed services for Internet Security Systems Inc., and as engagement manager for McKinsey & Co. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Speech School. Bergman received a B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Vermont and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Steven Danyluk, Ph.D. (Founder) Director of Manufacturing Research Center Georgia Institute of Technology Steve is an expert in the development of sensors for the detection of surface chemistry and metrology and holds multiple patents. He has an extensive background in semiconductor materials science and began his career as a staff member at Texas Instruments in 1973. He holds the Morris M. Bryan Jr. Chair in Mechanical Engineering for Advanced Manufacturing Systems and is Director of the Manufacturing Research Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he was the founding Director of the Manufacturing Research Center at the University of Illinois. Steve received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware and his Ph.D. from Cornell University in Materials Science and Engineering. Paul H. O'Neill Director Eastman Kodak Company Paul is a Special Advisor and Consultant to The Blackstone Group and a member of the firm's Domestic Advisory Board, with a focus on advising the firm's private equity funds' portfolio companies on operational and related issues, and assisting the firm in analyzing potential private equity investment opportunities. He is currently a Director of Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK). Paul served as the 72nd Secretary of the United States Treasury from 2001 to 2002. Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of Alcoa (NYSE: AA) from 1987 to 1999, retiring as Chairman at the end of 2000. He was President of International Paper Company from 1985 to 1987, where he was Vice President from 1977 to 1985. O'Neill was on the staff of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget from 1967 to 1977, serving as Deputy Director from 1974 to 1977. He worked as a computer systems analyst with the U.S. Veterans Administration from 1961 to 1966. Paul received his B.S. in Economics from Fresno State College in California, and his M.S. in Public Administration from Indiana University. Andrew P. Seamons Vice President, Private Investments Pittco Capital Partners, LLC Andrew is a partner of Pittco Capital Partners, LLC, a Memphis, Tennessee based private equity firm. The firm is privately held by J.R. “Pitt” Hyde III, the founder and former chairman and CEO of AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO). From September 2000 to October 2002, Andrew was a partner at the venture capital firm of Paradigm Capital Partners, LLC. From October 1999 to September 2000, Andrew served as a vice president of LendingTree, Inc., a North Carolina based Internet lending marketplace, where he served as general manager for that company’s business-to-business services organization. From July 1992 to October 1999, Andrew served as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. Andrew also serves on the board of directors of Internet Pictures Corporation (NASDAQ: IPIX) and Memphis Networx, both Paradigm portfolio companies, and LaneScan, Report on Board, and Monogram Food Solutions. Andrew holds an M.S. in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
