Position Summary

Qcept Technologies Inc. is the industry leader in Non-Visual Defect (NVD) inspection systems, including both sub-monolayer residue defects and process induced charge defects. Qcept is currently recruiting for a Demo Lab Engineering Technician to support the company's product demonstration lab at its Fremont, CA facility. This position will maintain daily ownership of the demo lab system to ensure that the system is running at peak performance, manage incoming/outgoing shipment of customer wafers, manage spare parts inventory including shipping logistics, and provide support to manage logistics related to demo lab and office supplies for the Fremont facility. This position reports to the Executive Vice President, who is the acting Applications Engineering Manager.

Essential Functions and Requirements
  • Support daily demo lab activities including system management, daily SPC checks, recipe creation / editing / management and other activities related to system performance

  • Support customer evaluation activities including running customer wafers, shipping / receiving / inventory management of wafer customer wafers, and work with applications on reports.

  • Support field service activities including shipping / receiving / inventory management of all spare parts located at the Fremont facility including coordination with finance on inventory audits.

  • Work with applications, field service and engineering to run experiments on system functionality and performance, and support activities related to software quality assurance testing.

  • Provide support for customer evaluations, including data analysis, data interpretation and generating the final evaluation reports, and may include live demos for customers.

Education

The candidate shall have a minimum of a 2-year Technical or Associates Degree in an engineering, science, math or semiconductor manufacturing discipline. A Bachelors of Science degree in one of the above disciplines would be a plus. Additionally, the candidate shall have at least five (5) years of related experience in either a semiconductor fab role or equipment vendor position, with specific experience in semiconductor defect inspection a plus.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in either a semiconductor fab role as a process engineering technician or with an equipment vendor as an engineering technician.

  • Hands on and direct experience working with laboratory equipment, defect inspection systems and/or metrology tools a plus. Experience with other semiconductor process tools acceptable.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. This role will have primary ownership of many activities which will require strong time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, with a solid understanding of the English language to enable effective communication with Qcept offices in the US.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high rate of changing requirements. Good laboratory management skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.

  • Efficiency working with Microsoft Windows XP systems and the Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are highly desired.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

The candidate must be able to work in a cleanroom environment more than 50% of the time, which includes wearing cleanroom protective clothing. Additionally, the candidate shall be willing and able to work extended hours on an as needed basis. Candidate must be able to lift items weighing at least 50 pounds.

Location

This position shall be based in northern California at the Qcept office located in Fremont, CA.
